The Pixar Theory

The Pixar Theory is a theory made by a man named Jon Negorni, in 2013 he published a book with the same title saying that ALL Pixar movies are connected in the same universe. Now this is just a theory made buy a fan for the fans, but the studio itself hasn’t confirmed that this is true and that everything is completely real and not just a theory.

As a HUGE Pixar fan, I think this theory is amazing and I understand this may sound completely nonsense but as a fan its really cool to connect all of the movies trying to find, references and Easter eggs that show the connection of each movie. If you are a fan of Pixar like me, then buckle up because I’m going to be taking a look at the entire theory, every movie, showing you the timeline and explaining it in my words.

The theory begins by saying it all starts with “The Good Dinosaur” 65 million years ago, the Pixar universe is very different from ours, because in the Pixar universe, a meteor misses the earth preserving the dinosaurs, making the animals to evolve and develop high intelligence, but in the end what the dinosaurs did during all that time ends when the weather was so brutal that destroyed them.

Now let’s jump to the 10th century, were “Brave” takes place, in this period humans discover magic, showing “The-Will-of-the-Wisps”. making them able to make potions that can transform a person into and animal, bring inanimate object to life and develop the way of traveling through portals. most importantly through wooden doors…

Then we move to the 1950’s and 1960’s, were “The Incredibles take place. Human energy is so strong that is harnessed to create Supers, were technology becomes more advanced killing the supers. Based on the theory the tech used during this time leads to the founding of the one and only Buy N Large “BNL” the company we see during the events of Wall · E.

Then we move forward to 1995 and 1996, were “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2” take place. The theory suggests that BNL creates toys that feed on the raw emotion of children, making them come to life and giving them the purpose to make their kid as happy as possible.

2003 and 2004 is the time of the events of “Finding Nemo” and “Finding Dory”, showing us how intelligent animals have become more so than humans, continuing to evolve and develop a human aspect to them.

2007 brings us to “Ratatouille” we see the evolution of animals even more present in this universe, showing a highly intelligent and evolved rat named Remy become of the greatest chefs in history, animal evolution is being something really important during these time. “Finding Dory” showed that animals thrive off from human emotion.

During the same year 2007 it’s the time of the events of “Toy Story 3”, and in later years “Toy Story 4”. In Toy Story 3 Nemo’s Darla is shown in a magazine cover, Boo from Monsters Inc. is shown older in Sunnyside, Andy has a postcard from Carl and Ellie in his bedroom, and BNL is more present than ever, showing that Buzz’s batteries are BNL branded.

During this timeline 2007 is a very big year having different events happening all at the same time, “Up” has a big part on showing the massive growth BNL is having, thanks to the invention technologically advanced collars, we can see the full potential of animals and their linguistic capabilities. During this film Carl is being forced to move out of his home because of a construction that BNL is controlling around his house, making him leave with his floating house. This is an example of the industrial expansion that BNL is having that will shape the next century.

The year 2015 brings us to the events of “Inside Out”, the source of human energy is shown to be emotion and imagination. Jon Negroni also says that Bing Bong (Riley’s imaginary friend) is based on a monster that she encountered in her closets when she was little.

2017 takes us to the land of the dead wich is seen in “Coco”, ancestral spirits like Brave’s Wisps have the ability to travel back to the human world but mainly staying in “The Land Of The Dead”, this is caused because of human memory and emotion. Making it clearer that the human emotion is one of the most powerful things that can make anything possible.

Now let’s jump way forward to the years 2057 and 2110 were the “Wall · E” prologue takes place. BNL has taken control over the entire (overpopulated) world. We see that humanity left earth in 2105 and BNL left the remaining Wall · E units to clean up Earth. The cleanup pollution has made Earth inhabitable for humans.

2110 to 2804 bring us to the events of “Cars”, “Cars 2”, and “Cars 3”. With human gone, machines rise, similar to toys in Toy Story, cars owned by human who loved them so much come to life, creating their own society and living and acting like their owners. But they die due to a lack of fuel and human emotion.

2805 brings us to “Wall · E”. Wall · E survives- fueled by solar power and emotion linked to the remaining human trinkets he collects. Wall · E meets Eve, he thanks to the human emotions he has collected feels in love and goes after Eve, letting him to one of the Axiom’s (the ships that humanity boarded and left Earth) bringing the remaining humans back to earth.

2898. “A Bugs Life” shows how sparked by the return of human bugs form their own societies and start acting like humans and keep on evolving. They are very intelligent more so than humans because they evolved and experienced the impact of humans living during the Wall · E era.

When humans left earth, their ships traveled across the galaxy. Most of the ships didn’t came back to Earth along with Wall · E and the Axiom, but instead some disappeared and others crashed on other planets due to malfunctions on the ship. “Onward” shows us a “human like” civilitation in another planet with another type of magical creatures. Having such similarities like cars, buildings, fashion, modern technology, and even the same brands as seen on Earth. This is because this planet was crashed by on the Axium’s from Earth a long time ago. And because the Axiom is an archive for human and Earth history, these creatures saw everything making them create a “human like” society and having the same technological advances as humans. Time passed letting nature thrive across the ship creating the mountain named “Raven’s Point”.

Now let’s get back to Earth. In the years 3100-5201 were the events of “Monsters Inc.” and “Monsters University” happen. Jon Negroni says that monsters are animals that evolved pas humans. Still reliant on human emotion for their source of power, they harvest children’s fear (then laughter) and use doors as portals through time. Monsters are told that humans are toxic in order to preserve the timeline.

And finally we come to the end of the complete Timeline so far. In the year 5201 to? shows us the Monsters Inc. epilogue. Boo grows up to remember the events of her childhood and the power of doors, obsessed with finding proof of what she lived as a child and trying to find Sulley, she learns about magic and grows to become a witch. the same witch from Brave who has traveled through time to find her “Kitty” who looks like a bear. In Brave the witch (Boo) is disguised as a woodcarver that only carves bear themed figures and wood drawings. In the film a wood carving of Sulley can be seen along with a Pizza Planet truck carved in wood showing that she is from the future and that maybe Jon Negroni and the entire Pixar fan community is on to something. And even if the theory is not confirmed by the studio itself, there’s a lot of proof and similarities that show that it may be real.
